Dakas (male) and Dakinis (female) are a class of demon gods and goddesses, believed to be flying in the sky. Dakini literally means “sky walking women". They are used as synonym for prajna, the embodiment of wisdom. They are also used to designate the female partner in the tantric initiation, and thus she can be both human and superhuman.
