Green tara is an embodiment of the mother energy. She loves us so much that she has declared that she will remain in the universe until all sentient beings have attained freedom. Green tara brings enlightenment, first for the individual, then for all.

There are many stories about the origins of green tara. Some trace her back for eons to other world systems; other stories go back to the hindu goddesses durga and kali. Tibetans say she was born from a tear of avalokateshwara who cried tears of compassion when he saw the terrible suffering of beings trapped in the lower realms. The present manifestation of green tara appeared strongly in buddhism in about the 7th century CE. Tara grants people their deepest heart-felt desires. These wishes are fulfilled very quickly when they arise out of fervent devotion and are for the benefit of others

綠度母

說明 

　  è–救度佛母共有二十一尊化身，簡稱二十一尊度母。其中，在西藏流傳最廣的是綠度母與白度母。綠度母現妙齡女子相。因爲全身綠色，故稱‘綠度母’。一面二臂，慈悲形相，頭戴五佛寶冠，身掛各種珠寶，並穿各色天衣，下身重裙，以爲莊嚴。於蓮華月輪上，坐菩薩座，右足蹍，左足蜷。右手向外置於右膝上，作施願印，並持烏巴拉花。左手當心持烏巴拉花。

形象與特徵

　綠度母的法相，是一頭二臂，雙手各持蓮花和結印，身體是玉青色，纖細而莊嚴。左手持支盛開着的蓮花，蓮花上又有兩朵蓮花，一朵未開，一朵半開，均意味着未來、現在、過去三世均是如此的依止着佛法的誓願而行。綠救度母，頭上戴着小五佛冠，飾以珠寶莊嚴異常，身子放射出虹光。她腳向下伸，意味着隨時應機去救度眾生，她右手放在她的右膝上，掌心向外，是與願印且持蓮花，是將蓮花施與天下的意願。
